Explosion at Trans-Niger pipeline in Rivers

A section of the Trans-Niger Pipeline at Bodo, Gokana Local Government Area of Rivers State, is on fire after being rocked by an explosion.

The explosion was said to have occurred on Monday night.

A thick black smoke ensued from the pipeline with the fire spreading into the mangrove  nearby.

It is yet to be disclosed whether the explosion was an accident or a consequence of an action carried out by saboteurs.
