Israel has again launched a ground invasion into Gaza, resulting in devastating consequences.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the operation on social media, stating that they had begun ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip.

The IDF’s page posted: “IDF forces have begun ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip, the IDF and Shin Bet continue their waves of attacks throughout the Strip.”

Fighting resumed on Tuesday when Israel launched surprise airstrikes across Gaza leading to hundreds of deaths including of women and children.

The Gaza Health Ministry reported that over 400 Palestinians were killed on Tuesday alone, primarily women and children.

On Wednesday Israeli troops retook part of a corridor that bisects Gaza, and its defense minister warned that attacks would intensify until Hamas frees dozens of hostages and gives up control of the territory.

The advances on the ground by Israel on Wednesday — which included sending more troops to southern Gaza — threatened to drag the sides into all-out war again.

Israeli strikes killed at least 58 Palestinians across the Gaza Strip overnight and into Thursday, according to three hospitals. The strikes hit multiple homes in the middle of the night, killing men, women and children as they slept.
