Controversial Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has issued a public apology to Fuji music legend Saheed Osupa, following a heated dispute over copyright infringement.
The conflict began after Saheed Osupa reported one of Portable’s songs on Spotify and other streaming platforms, citing copyright infringement. This action led to the removal of the track from various platforms. In response, an enraged Portable took to social media to insult the Fuji icon, making derogatory remarks about his physique and questioning his relevance in the music industry.
However, the backlash from fans and netizens was swift, with many condemning Portable’s disrespectful comments.
In a bid to make amends, Portable shared an apology video on his Instagram page. The singer expressed regret for his actions, blaming his anger and desire for money for the outburst. He also pleaded with his followers to help convey his apology to the music legend.
“King Saheed Osupa, I am so sorry. It was money that wanted to cause our fight. My fans should please apologise to him,” Portable said.
Despite the apology, many netizens remained skeptical, criticizing the sincerity of his statement. Some comments included:
- Kyforreal: “I don’t know who is advising this boy.”
- Sam_4pf: “You go chop that beating walahi.”
- Olamirewaju: “A lunatic. He always talks before he thinks with his dead brain.”
