First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has extended its footprint to Ogbomosho with the launch of a new branch along the Ogbomosho-Ilorin road.
The expansion, aimed at boosting financial inclusion and local economic growth, was formally inaugurated on March 12 in a ceremony attended by traditional and community leaders.
Speaking at the event, the Soun of Ogbomosho, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, described FCMB’s arrival as a transformative development for the town.
He noted that the bank’s presence would empower local businesses and align with Ogbomosho’s 25-year development plan.
“This is a significant milestone for our community. FCMB’s innovative banking services will provide critical financial support for our citizens and enterprises. We look forward to a fruitful partnership and the possibility of more branches to further strengthen our local economy,” the monarch stated.
Echoing this sentiment, Hon. Seun Ojo, Chairman of Ogo-Oluwa Local Government, praised FCMB’s commitment to financial accessibility.
He urged the bank to extend its reach to underserved communities, reinforcing economic resilience across Ogbomosho land.
Representing FCMB’s Managing Director, Mrs Yemisi Edun, the Bank’s National Head of Sales, Mr Emmanuel Comla, reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to inclusive growth.
“Ogbomosho is a city renowned for its industrious spirit. Under Kabiyesi Olaoye’s leadership, a structured growth plan is in place, and we are proud to support that vision. While digital banking is advancing rapidly, physical branches remain crucial for deepening financial access. This branch will serve as a catalyst for economic opportunities and strategic partnerships,” Comla remarked.
Additionally, the bank’s Group Head of Operations and International Trade Services, Mr Ademola Idowu, highlighted the branch’s modern banking infrastructure, which is powered by renewable energy.
