The victim of the fatal Tottenham shooting has been named and pictured for the first time, MyLondon has reported.
Mahad Abdi Mohammed, 27, was shot in the head at around 8.45pm on Thursday (March 20) on Waverley Road, Tottenham.
According to the online magazine, Mahad was with another man, 25, who was shot in the leg, and is now stable following surgery. There have been no arrests and enquiries are ongoing.
“Our family is grieving the profound loss of a son, a brother, a father and a friend. We kindly ask for privacy during this incredibly difficult time. We are grateful for your understanding and support,” his family is quoted.
Detective Chief Inspector Rebecca Woodsford of the Met’s Specialist Crime North team said: “Two men were shot on a residential street on Thursday, with one man sadly losing his life. My thoughts are with the victim’s family and friends at this time.
“We recognise the impact this will have on the local community. My team are working diligently to gather evidence and establish what led to this tragedy. I would ask any local residents with concerns to speak to officers at the scene, or to their local neighbourhood policing teams.
“I will now ask for anyone who was in the area, past 20:00hrs on Thursday 20th March, to please contact police if you heard or saw something suspicious.
“Your knowledge is crucial to us, and it may help us locate the suspects. Please do the right thing and come forward, you will be supported.”
