A man identified as Wealth Nnamdi, has allegedly killed her pregnant lover and her six-year-old daughter, seven days to their traditional marriage ceremony at Ovbiogie community, along the Benin-Lagos expressway, Edo State.
The incident occurred on Sunday, March 23, 2025,
The victims are Osasu Aimienoho lsaac and her daughter, Aleluya Uwuigbe, whom she had from a previous relationship.
It was gathered that the suspect who is now at large, have been dating the deceased for over three years and they scheduled their traditional marriage ceremony for March 29, 2025 and April 6, 2025 for the church wedding, before the tragic incident.
A source in the community who asked not to be named, alleged that the two lovers had had an intense disagreement on the fateful day.
According to him, the neighbours who heard the quarrel were not too bothered as they usually have quarrels.
He added that the quarrel later degenerated into a fatal one resulting in the man killing his pregnant lover and her daughter.
“After committing the crime, the man locked up the two deceased persons in the room and escaped to an unknown destination.
“The stench emitting from the room attracted neighbours who then called the police.
“The police then forced the door open and took the pregnant woman and her daughter to the mortuary,” he said.
The Edo State Police Command spokesman, CSP Moses Yamu, who confirmed the incident, assured that the police will get to the root of the matter.
