In a recent interview with media personality Adesope, Magixx disclosed that he was initially searching for a manager to help guide his music career and increase his exposure.

Nigerian Afrobeats singer Alexander Adelabu, popularly known as Magixx, has shared the story of how he became part of Mavin Records.

In a recent interview with media personality Adesope, Magixx disclosed that he was initially searching for a manager to help guide his music career and increase his exposure.

However, during his search, he unexpectedly caught the attention of Mavin Records’ founder, Don Jazzy.

Magixx revealed that he was not actively seeking to join a record label at the time but was focused on finding someone who could help book shows and promote his talent.

“I reached out to someone that I needed a person who would manage me and help me because things were really tight at that time. He reached out to a couple of people, and that was how Don Jazzy happened. I wasn’t even thinking about a record label. I was just thinking of someone that could put me on shows for the world to see my talent,” Magixx said.

According to him, Don Jazzy contacted him in September or October 2020 and eventually offered him a contract, making him the last artist to join the label at the time.

“They were going to unveil Ayra Starr that September, but because of the COVID-19 pandemic, they pushed her unveiling to January 2021, and every other person was unveiled thereafter,” he added.
