Nollywood actress and filmmaker Mercy Aigbe Adeoti has addressed the negative comments surrounding her marriage to Kazim Adeoti, a father of four.
In an interview on her colleague Bimpe Akintunde’s talk show, Iriri Mi, Aigbe dismissed criticisms, particularly claims that she has influenced her husband’s decisions.
She described the negative remarks as mere “noise,” questioning the lives of those making such statements.
“That’s just noise. Look closely at those talking—how is their life? People only talk when someone is doing something good or well known. If you’re not at the top, you won’t be a topic,” she said.
Reflecting on her journey, the mother of two admitted she never imagined her life would turn out the way it has. She also opened up about her family’s initial disapproval of her remarriage, especially due to her age. However, she stood firm in her decision, emphasizing that she knew what she wanted.
“I love love. Some family members asked me, ‘You’re close to 50, what are you looking for?’ But I believe everyone knows what they want. I saw what I wanted. I love to have a crown (husband) on my head and be married. Maybe if I had stayed with my baby’s father, I wouldn’t be known as Mercy Aigbe,” she stated.
