President Bola Tinubu has condemned the brutal murder of travelling hunters intercepted and killed by local vigilantes in Uromi, Esan North Local Government Area of Edo State.
Expressing shock over the “dastardly act,” the President on Thursday ordered the Police and other security agencies to launch an immediate and thorough investigation to track down and bring the perpetrators to justice.
Commiserating with the families of the victims, Tinubu vowed that “criminals will not be allowed to shed the blood of innocent Nigerians in vain.”
Reaffirming the constitutional right of all Nigerians to move freely across the country, the President declared that “jungle justice has no place in Nigeria.”
He also lauded Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and community leaders in Uromi for their swift intervention to prevent an escalation of tensions.
