Renowned Nollywood makeover artist and actor Mustapha Sholagbade’s baby mama, Adewunmi Fatai, has opened up about a distressing experience she faced while in the United Kingdom.
Speaking in an interview with Biola Bayo on the Talk to B podcast, Adewunmi revealed that she was falsely accused of stealing gold, a claim that quickly spread within the entertainment industry.
She recounted how the accuser even suggested that her son should be taken away from her, a situation that left her in tears.
“I travelled out, and I was accused of stealing gold. This is no longer news in the industry, and I didn’t even know. The lady told her mother on the phone that I was a thief. She said my son should be taken away from me. I cried. When I told my mummy on the phone, she was crying,” she said.
The single mother of one also shared how she faced discrimination within the industry, recalling an instance where a married woman humiliated her at an event for being a baby mama. According to her, the woman deliberately withheld food from her, saying that only married women would be served first.
Despite these challenges, Adewunmi acknowledged the people who helped her career, including Dele Ogundipe and Oluwole Cole Baraka, who bought her first makeup box. She also praised actress Yetunde Barnabas, calling her one of her best producers and a rare gem in the industry.
“Not everyone can be like Yetunde Barnabas. She is one of my best producers. I am not expensive; it’s you who can’t afford me,” she added.
