Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to hold Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, accountable if she and her supporters face any violence

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has urged Nigerians to hold Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo, and his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, accountable if she and her supporters face any violence during her scheduled visit to her constituency for the Eid-el-Fìtr celebrations.

Natasha made the appeal via her official Facebook page on Tuesday.

She said, “My dear people of Kogi Central, I look forward to our peaceful Sallah celebrations today.

“However, should we be met with or infiltrated by violence, Nigerians should hold Gov Òdodo, Yahaya Bello & SP Godswill Akpabio wholly responsible.”

Natasha’s warning comes on the heels of her vow to proceed with her planned visit and homecoming rally, despite the Kogi State Government’s ban on rallies and public gatherings due to security concerns.

The senator has assured her supporters that she has not canceled her visit and encouraged them to come out in large numbers to celebrate the Eid-el-Fitr with her.

Meanwhile, the Kogi Police Command has warned Akpoti-Uduaghan to cancel her planned rally, citing the state government’s ban on political gatherings.

The Chairman of Okehi local government area of Kogi state, Amoka Monday, has also imposed a curfew across the council area.

Despite the tensions, videos of Akpoti-Uduaghan’s supporters preparing for her homecoming rally have begun circulating on social media, with hundreds of women singing and drumming in anticipation of her return.
