Popular Nigerian content creator and rights activist, Mr Macaroni, has reacted to the ongoing crisis in Enugu State, where more than 44 farm settlements have reportedly been overrun, forcing residents to flee their homes.
The affected communities include Abor Ishala, Mgbuji, Agu-Amede, Eha-Agu, and Umuhu.
Sharing the report on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Mr Macaroni expressed frustration over the silence of both the federal and state governments in the face of escalating violence in the South.
He described the inaction as injustice and called on the government to swiftly intervene and protect its citizens.
“Evil like this should be condemned by all!! Not only that, but the government must swing into action and show that there is zero tolerance for this sort of barbarism!!!” he wrote.
The comedian further warned that the absence of a strong government response could push people to take the law into their own hands, leading to even more violence.
“When the government is quiet, the people feel the need to protect their lives and properties by themselves, which escalates issues and leads to the loss of other innocent lives. Injustice is injustice! It does not matter where it happens. North, East, South or West, we must always speak against it,” he added.
