AMVCA nominations : Get familiar with the new faces

It is that time of the year when the Africa Magic viewer choice awards brings the excitement and the glamor to you. It is about the buzz of African film and seeing African stars all in one place to be celebrated. But this year, as always, there are some new faces and names that have been out in the spotlight and nominated to different categories. Get familiar with these new faces at the AMVCA
1. Mike Afolarin.
The far from home star was nominated for Best supporting Actor for his part in House of Ga’a as Oyemekun, making this his debut nomination at the awards ceremony. His character Oyemekun played an important role in the movie, showcasing determination and love. And although this is Mike’s first nomination, he has appeared in movies like – Ajosepo, Freedom way, Ajuwaya, Soole and the popular Far from home. Mike Afolarin’s nomination is proof that hardwork pays.
2. Dorcas Ariyiike Owolagba.
Ariyiike Owolagba, popularly known as Ariyiike Dimples is a content creator, an actress, a radio host and a compere. Her show ‘Risky‘ was nominated for the category of Best Digital Content Creator. The YouTube series is about a young woman who is on a relentless search for true love. The character who is a bit delusional always finds herself in funny, and questionable situations with men. Ariyiike is a relentless Goal getter who puts in her best in all she finds herself and this nomination is proof that it is finally paying off.
3. Iyo Peosper Adokiye.
This talented content creator was nominated for the category of Best Digital Content Creator for his digital Bible series “we listen, we don’t judge”. This series highlights scenarios with Biblical characters and gives a funny twist to the storyline. Iyo acts characters like Potiphar, Cain, Eve and so many others. This Nomination is an accolade to his consistency and creativity.
Other new faces at the AMVCA Nominations are:
4. Omolola Lamikanra: A writer nominated for the category of Best Writer for her work in Skelton coast.
5. Opeyemi Sogeke: A talented designer nominated for the Best costume design for her work on Phoenix Fury
6. Norman Maake: A South African filmmaker whose film Inkabi received 6 nominations across various categories.
7. Uche Montana: a beautiful and talented actress nominated for Best lead Actress for her role in the movie ‘Thin line’
8. Uzoamaka Onuoha: A winner of the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) for the role of Best lead Actress, nominated for Best leas actress for her exceptional role in the movie Agemo.
9. Aliu Gafar: A talented actor nominated for Best Supporting Actor for his outstanding performance in Seven doors
10. Papama Tangela: the cinematographer behind the movie Agemo
11. Jide pounds Ibitoye : Nominated for Best Digital Content Creator for the series ‘Abike Ati Asola’
12. Seoli Bongani Mashaba: A South African composer and founder of Seoli Music nominated for his work on Inkabi
13. Prince Daniel Aboki : He has two films nominated for Best Indigenous Language at the AMVCA this year.
14. Darasimi Nadi: She was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her incredible performance as Rofi, Aburo’s sister, in ‘Aburo.’
15. Gbugbemi Ejeye: Popular for movies like Far from Home and Citation, Gbemi was nominated for the Best Lead Actress at this year’s AMVCA for her role as Funmi in ‘Farmer’s Bride‘.
These new faces at the AMVCA are proof and motivation to other young dreamers that consistency and hardwork do not go unnoticed
