Lagos Police heroically save robbery suspect from furious mob justice

Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command have successfully rescued a 28-year-old robbery suspect from a mob attack.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the Lagos Police Ccommand’s spokesperson, confirmed the incident to journalists on Monday.

According to Hundeyin, officers on patrol responded to a distress call and arrived at Matana, located in the Suru-Alaba area, where the mob had gathered.

The suspect had been captured by the mob after allegedly committing the crime.

It was reported that the suspect and his gang had robbed a man and snatched a phone from a woman. Both victims later identified the suspect as one of the attackers.

An unregistered motorcycle, believed to have been used in the robbery, was recovered at the scene.

The suspect has confessed to the crime and is now assisting police in locating his accomplices. Hundeyin added that investigations are ongoing. (NAN)
