In a fiery tweet posted just hours ago, U.S. President Donald Trump took to social media to boast of the country’s economic strides, sharply criticising China and past American leadership for their handling of trade and tariffs.

“Oil prices are down, interest rates are down (the slow-moving Fed should cut rates!), food prices are down, there is NO INFLATION,” Trump declared.

“The long-time abused USA is bringing in Billions of Dollars a week from the abusing countries on Tariffs that are already in place.”

Trump, who has been vocal about economic policy since leaving office, pointed out that despite the fact that China’s market is in turmoil, the country has raised its tariffs by a whopping 34%.

He further criticised the nation’s handling of the situation, calling out China for ignoring his past warnings about retaliating against American tariffs.

“The biggest abuser of them all, China, whose markets are crashing, just raised its Tariffs by 34%, on top of its long-term ridiculously high Tariffs (Plus!), not acknowledging my warning for abusing countries not to retaliate,” Trump raged.

In his usual style, the former president didn’t hold back in assigning blame to previous U.S. administrations for the current economic turmoil, claiming they allowed the country to be taken advantage of for decades.

“They’ve made enough, for decades, taking advantage of the Good OL’ USA!” Trump proclaimed, casting a scathing look at the leadership before him.

Trump’s message continued with a sharp condemnation of past U.S. leaders: “Our past ‘leaders’ are to blame for allowing this, and so much else, to happen to our Country.”

With his signature rallying cry, Trump concluded his tweet with a call to action: “MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!”

The tweet, coming on the heels of ongoing economic debates and rising global tensions, is sure to add fuel to the fire of the heated discussions around U.S.-China trade relations and America’s broader economic policies.
