Despite the escalating trade war between China and the United States, President Donald Trump took a moment during a press briefing in the Oval Office to compliment Chinese President Xi Jinping.
“Xi is a smart guy and we’ll end up making a very good deal,” Trump said of the Chinese leader, adding that he believes Xi is “one of the smartest people in the world.”
