In a day of drama, chaos and roaring emotion at Stamford Bridge, Chelsea staged an astonishing comeback from two goals down to deny Ipswich Town a famous win.

For 30 agonising minutes, Chelsea were stunned into silence as Ipswich threatened to tear up the script with a fearless first-half assault that left the Blues in tatters.

It all began in the 19th minute when Julio Enciso silenced the home crowd with a razor-sharp strike into the centre of the goal after Chelsea’s defence was caught napping.

The travelling fans had barely caught their breath before Benjamin Johnson made it 2-0 in the 31st minute, nodding into an empty net following a crisp passing move that left the Blues utterly bewildered.

A moment of VAR suspense followed, but after a tense pause, referee Stuart Attwell confirmed the goal would stand — sparking wild scenes on the Ipswich bench.
