BLUETICKGENG DEVELOPMENT has raised concerns over a growing trend in the tech industry: developers taking on underpriced projects they cannot complete, leading to a surge in client complaints and unfinished software.
According to recent feedback from new clients, many had previously engaged developers who promised to deliver complex applications at costs significantly below the actual requirements. In most cases, these projects remained incomplete, with clients losing both time and money.
The issue often stems from developers accepting jobs they know are underfunded. For instance, a project that requires a budget of 5 million naira may be accepted for just 1 million. Developers agree out of desperation or fear of losing a potential client, only to find themselves unable to cover the full scope of work. This results in delays, unfulfilled contracts, and damage to the industry’s credibility.
However, the blame doesn’t lie solely with developers. Many clients unknowingly encourage this cycle by rejecting fair quotes in search of cheaper options. A recent case involved a client who approached BLUETICKGENG DEVELOPMENT for a custom mobile application and was quoted 15 million naira. Rather than moving forward with an experienced team, the client opted for a cheaper developer who ultimately failed to deliver due to lack of resources.
Praise Davis, CEO of BLUETICKGENG DEVELOPMENT, emphasized the need for honesty and mutual understanding. “Developers must stop accepting projects they know they can’t execute. It’s a disservice to both the client and the industry. At the same time, clients need to understand that real innovation requires real investment.”
The company urges clients to prioritize quality and transparency over low pricing. Likewise, it calls on developers to maintain integrity by only committing to projects they are fully equipped to deliver.
With the tech industry growing rapidly across Africa, BLUETICKGENG DEVELOPMENT continues to set the standard for professionalism, quality, and sustainable client relationships. The message is clear: for progress to continue, both developers and clients must align on value, not just cost.
