A Quick Guide to All Four Destiny 2 Barrow-Dyad Catalysts

Now that you’ve obtained the exotic submachine gun in Destiny 2, it’s time to gather all 4 Barrow Dyad catalysts and gain cool additional effects for the weapon in the game. Different catalysts grant different effects, and if you want to outsmart your opponents in PvE and PvP matches, it’s important to have them all in your weapon.

However, obtaining them is not an easy feat at all. It will have you grind for hours and hours into different in-game quests and activities. For a quicker way to obtain all catalysts for the Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad, you can consider getting some Destiny 2 boost. With that said, let’s now see how to unlock all four catalysts below!

Barrow Dyad High Impact Reserves Catalyst

As your ammunition gets depleted, the High-Impact Reserves Catalyst increases your damage output. It’s a great Barrow Dyad catalyst to finish off your enemies in a single continuous burst of fire.

To get it, you first need to complete an expert version of the Court of Blades activity with this exotic weapon equipped. This will reward you with the “Sharp Osseous Spine” exotic quest upon completion.

Take this quest to the Shaping Slab (the crafting hub for Barrow Dyad) in Eris’ apartment and exchange it for the exotic quest “A Needle’s Path”. Align with the Path of Resolve progression track and reach rank 12 by completing various episodic activities like The Nether and the Court of Blades, because only then will the quest progress further.

After reaching rank 12 on the Path of Resolve, you’ll need to do another Court of Blades activity, but this time there is a slight catch. You can only use precision weapons, including the Barrow Dyad. After completing the activity with the proper loadout, you’ll get the High-Impact Reserves catalyst as a drop loot from the final chest.

Now head back to The Enclave and recraft the Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad with your newly obtained catalyst.

Barrow Dyad Hatchling Catalyst

As the name suggests, the Hatchling Barrow Dyad catalyst spawns a hatchling “Threadling” every time you deliver a precision final blow. This makes it a very excellent tool for dealing passive damage.

However, before you get started, make sure to collect three Coalescence of Sorrow. These are hidden collectibles that can be found in The Nether activity. After collecting them, a hidden portal will open up in the Trenchway region of the Dreadnaught. Locating this portal is a little tricky, but with a bit of a keen eye, you’ll find it in no time!

You’ll know you have entered the secret place when you see a strange device on the left wall that will give a prompt “Rites of the Deep Tithe Found Worthy” when you come close to it. Interact with it and jump through the Taken portal that appears. Looting both the chests will reward you with the catalyst item, the “Heavy Osseous Spine”.

Take it back to the Shaping Slab to receive the “A Hammer’s Path” quest. Before proceeding further, align your progression track with the Path of Ambition and reach rank 12.

Afterward, re-run The Nether on Expert difficulty but with only close-range weapons, including the Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad. You’ll receive the Hatchling Catalyst as a reward upon successful activity completion, and you can reshape your Barrow-Dyad anytime in Savathun’s Throneworld at The Enclave.

Barrow Dyad One for All Catalyst

The One for All catalyst is as ominous as it sounds. In that, it grants you a significant damage boost for a short duration once you hit 3 different types of enemies in a quick succession, which makes this Barrow Dyad catalyst a go-to choice for PvE gameplay.

Your first task in obtaining this catalyst is to complete the Sunless Cell reprised strike from DS1. When you complete it, you’ll earn an item called the “Trembling Osseous Spine”. Take this to Shaping Slab and you’ll receive the “A Hundredfold Path” catalyst quest in return.

The primary objective of this quest is to find and collect 10 Tithing Wormspawn in the Dreadnaught. Make sure that you are aligned with the Path of Ambition because, otherwise, you won’t be able to find them.

Since wormspawn are dropped by Hive enemies or mini-bosses in the region, we’ll recommend you check out The Hull Breach, Trenchway, Hall of Souls, Mausoleum, and The Founts areas to quickly complete the objective.

Once done, re-do the Sunless Cell Strike again with only SMGs, Machine Guns, Auto Rifles, and of course, the Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad. Completing it will reward you with the One for All catalyst.

Barrow Dyad Target Lock Catalyst

Now, for the last and fourth Barrow Dyad Catalyst, the Target Lock increases your damage output the longer you stay on a single target without stopping to shoot or switching targets for too long.

Starting by finding three Coalescence of the Knives. The first is in a cave behind the Phalanx’s spawn point in the Hull Breach. The second is obtained after destroying the Taken Blight in a secret passageway. It can be accessed by destroying the yellow Hive Runes in the correct order and then finding the pillar with another Rune and shooting it. The third one is obtained after you complete the “Mission Dossier: Blade Logic” side quest.

A secret portal in the Hull Breach region will appear once you obtain all three Coalescence of the Knives. It will be behind a diamond-shaped door. Interact with it, and the portal will be unlocked. Jump through it and you’ll find two chests inside. Open them to get the “Warped Osseous Spine” catalyst item.

Take it to the Shaping Slab to begin the “A Silken Path” quest. Before proceeding further, ensure your progression track is set to Path of Resolve. The quest will have you find ten Ravenous Wormspawns in the following areas: Trenchway, Hall of Souls, Mausoleum, The Founts, and the Hull Breach.

With ten Ravenous Wormspawns acquired, complete the “Derealize” mission with the Destiny 2 Barrow Dyad weapon equipped. Completing it will reward you with the Target Lock catalyst.
