In a thunderous Easter message that struck both a chord of hope and defiance, President Bola Tinubu declared war on insecurity and evil forces threatening the nation’s peace, vowing, “Forces of evil will never prevail over our country.”
With the weight of recent tragic killings in some parts of the country pressing heavily on the national psyche, Tinubu didn’t mince words. “I understand the pain and fear these incidents have caused,” he said, acknowledging the trauma and anxiety many Nigerians are enduring.
“Let me assure you that my administration’s resolve to restore peace and security remains unshakable.”
The President revealed he had issued “clear directives to the Armed Forces and all relevant security agencies to end insecurity decisively and without delay.”
According to him, “With the unwavering courage and commitment of our gallant men and women in uniform, we are turning the tide and making steady progress in reclaiming peace and stability.”
Urging unity and resilience, Tinubu drew inspiration from the resurrection of Christ, stating, “Just as Christ triumphed over death, so too shall our country triumph over every challenge we face. The present moment may be cloudy, but it will usher in a glorious day.”
In a message steeped in faith, hope, and national pride, he encouraged Nigerians not to despair but to stay the course.
“The task before us is enormous, but together, with faith and determination, there is no obstacle we cannot overcome,” he said.
Amid economic pains, Tinubu struck a reassuring note. “We understand the economic challenges many of you are facing, and we are working tirelessly to restore investor confidence, stabilise key sectors, and build an inclusive economy that serves the interests of all Nigerians.”
Reflecting on the significance of Easter, the President stated, “The Holy Week… calls us to reflect deeply on the enduring values of sacrifice, redemption, love, and hope.”
He reaffirmed his vow to deliver on the promise of Renewed Hope and expressed gratitude for the continued patience of Nigerians.
“May the risen Christ bless our homes with peace and our nation with continued unity and prosperity. Happy Easter to all my fellow Nigerians,” he said.
