Bishop Oyedepo

Founder and Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Oyedepo, has recounted how obedience to divine instruction preserved his destiny and leadership role over the Liberation Mandate.

He stated that had he remained in the United States, he might have ended up as just another church member.

Speaking during Day 3 of the Encounter Night at the Easter Faith Convention, Oyedepo reflected on the critical choice he made in 1987 when he turned down an opportunity to relocate to the US.

According to him, it was a test of obedience that shaped not only his personal journey but also the global influence of the Commission he now leads.

“Precious people, just imagine that I got hooked on to the US and decided to stay there on my own,” he told the congregation.

“I might be a member of this Church now, because there is no wasted crown in the Kingdom. You lose it, somebody else takes it.”

He warned believers not to ignore divine instructions, noting that one could carry anointing and a calling yet remain fruitless if God is absent from their location or decision.

“I said, ‘Why is nothing happening in Kumasi?’ God said, ‘I’m not there.’ The anointing was there oh, the calling was there, but God was not there. Six years, nothing was happening. People can be somewhere where God is not for 20 years and nothing will happen. You won’t miss God!”

Oyedepo affirmed that he has no regrets about staying in Nigeria, emphasising that it was “raw obedience” that has brought the church and its mission to their current height.

“Do I have a regret now for being in Nigeria? Never! You won’t miss your place,” he declared.

Under Bishop Oyedepo’s leadership, Living Faith Church, also known as Winners’ Chapel, has grown into a global network of churches, with its international headquarters at Faith Tabernacle, Ota, reputed as one of the world’s largest church auditoriums.
