Ebele Iyiegbu, wife of billionaire businessman and nightlife mogul Obi Cubana, has spoken out amidst the brewing controversy over who rightfully holds the “next of kin” title in the Cubana family.
The drama was stirred after Obi Cubana’s adopted son, Chidi, made public claims asserting that he is the rightful next of kin to the business tycoon.
In what appeared to be a subtle rebuttal, Obi Cubana took to Instagram to post a photo of his biological son, Alex, referring to him as the “original next of kin.”
Ebele, popularly known as Lush Eby on Instagram, took to her page to respond with grace and subtlety. In a lengthy post, she expressed dismay over the culture of misinformation and character attacks that often thrive on social media platforms.
“Only on social media do you encounter people sharing your life story as if they know you personally. Only here will you learn about your own history from strangers who’ve never even met you,” she wrote.
The mother of four also lamented how women—especially wives and mothers—often become the targets of blame and negativity due to the misguided perceptions of others.
Despite the storm, Ebele maintained a calm and celebratory tone, revealing she is still basking in the joy of her husband’s 50th birthday, which was recently celebrated in grand style.
“Anyways, I’m still soaking in the celebration of the #50for50 birthday party for Okpataozueora! Like I said before, the entire month of April is dedicated to you, babe,” she added.
She also thanked a media team for capturing her heartfelt speech at the event, where she creatively curated 50 Igbo titles that she said best described her husband’s dynamic personality.
