South Yorkshire-based drummer and cultural arts facilitator, Adeniyi Adekoya, popularly known as Adeniyi Drumz, is once again using rhythm as a tool for healing and empowerment with his youth-focused workshop titled “Unshaken: The Power of Faith & Drums.”

Originally scheduled for April, the event has now been rescheduled to hold on Saturday, 3rd May 2025, at Springwell Community Centre, Rotherham.

Adeniyi Drumz, a Nigerian-born artist who rose from drumming on makeshift cans in Ibadan to performing at Aso Villa and building a cultural platform in the UK, is passionate about creating spaces where youth – especially those from migrant and underrepresented communities – can heal, connect, and express themselves through rhythm.

“Unshaken” is not just a music workshop; it is a mission-driven gathering that combines drumming, faith, storytelling, and cultural identity in a creative and emotionally safe environment.

The goal is to build confidence in teenagers and children, particularly asylum seekers and young people navigating identity and transition.

The workshop will feature hands-on drumming sessions, rhythm exchange activities, inspirational talks, and community-building exercises designed to release energy, build trust, and nurture personal growth.

This is the third project in just three months led by Adeniyi, following the successful “Drums, Dialogue & Rhythm Exchange” and his collaboration with Adedoyin Oseni Sax.

With another collaboration in the works with Sheffield-based charity FURD (Football Unites, Racism Divides), Adeniyi Drumz continues to use the power of music to uplift, educate, and unify.
