The Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan has confirmed the abduction of Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos, a priest at St. Gerald Quasi Parish in Kurmin Risga, Kauru Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

In a statement released by Rev. Fr. Jacob Shanet, Chancellor of the Diocese, it was revealed that the incident occurred around 12:15 am on Thursday at the residence of the kidnapped priest in Kurmin Risga.

The Diocese called for prayers for Rev. Fr. Amos’ safety, urging the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands.

“We will use every legitimate and available means to ensure that Rev. Fr. Ibrahim Amos returns to us unharmed and in good health,” Rev. Fr. Shanet stated, expressing concern and hope for the priest’s safe return. He also invoked the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary and all angels for the priest’s safe recovery.

This abduction marks the latest in a troubling series of attacks on clergymen in the southern part of Kaduna State, highlighting ongoing security concerns in the region.
