The Police command have rescued a four- year- old boy identified as Jaffa Umar from two female traffickers who were trying to sell him for N2.7m in Owerri, the state capital.
The Spokesperson of the Imo state Police command, DSP Henry Okoye disclosed this in a press statement released on the 24th of April.
The Imo Police Command spokesperson disclosed that the boy was abducted while hawking vegetables. He also explained that the suspects were making an attempt to sell him for 2.7 million naira before bring arrested.
The spokesperson also assured the public that the child has been safely returned to his family with the assistance of the Abuja police command.
He said the suspects have been transferred to Abuja for further investigation and possible prosecution.
The State Police Commissioner Aboki Danjuma, also addressed the general public, reminding them of the Command’s commitment to their goal of protecting and serving.
