Nigerian Fuji music icon, King Wasiu Ayinde, popularly known as Kwam1 or K1, has spoken out about the rift between him and fellow Fuji singer, Ayinla Kollington.
In an exclusive interview with Agbaletu TV, Kwam1 expressed his frustration, revealing that his anger stems from Kollington’s failure to offer condolences when he lost his mother.
Kwam1 recounted how he supported Kollington during his own mother’s passing, handling the funeral arrangements, bringing dignitaries to the event, and managing all financial aspects. However, he said that Kollington did not reciprocate the gesture when Kwam1 faced a similar loss.
“I am so angry with Alhaji Kollington because he never showed up to offer his condolences when I lost my mum,” Kwam1 said in the interview. “When his own mother passed away, I supported him to give her a befitting burial. I brought a lot of dignitaries to the burial for him, and I handled all the finances 100%. See how he paid me back. What could have happened after everything I did for him?”
K1 also pointed out that Kollington was in Nigeria at the time of his mother’s death, yet chose not to show up. Instead, he allegedly gave an excuse that he called Kwam1 and didn’t receive a response.
“He is in Nigeria, hale and hearty, and the only excuse he gave was that he called me, and I didn’t pick up,” Kwam1 added. “Am I not supposed to be angry?”
