Nollywood actor Uzor Arukwe recently opened up about his sexuality in a podcast while speaking about rumors he has heard about himself.
Arukwe said that the most shocking rumor he had heard about himself was that he was gay.
“They said that I was gay, and that shocked me to my balls. I was excited too. Cos I heard that when they start saying those kinds of things, you will blow (famous), so I thought to myself, ‘this must be it.’” Arukwe said.
The Actor treated the issue with humor and seemed unfazed by the speculation. He however addressed the rumor officially.
“If it were my sexuality, I would own it. I’ll be one of the hottest around. I would own it with my chest,” Arukwe clarified.
Arukwe who is popularly known as Odogwu panranran for his recent role in Funke Akindele‘s Finding me addressed the issue with maturity, clarifying that he has no judgement for the members of the LGBTQ community.
“So, I have a lot of gay friends, they are my people, and I know their sexuality. And I love them to death. I have nothing against them whatsoever, but I’m not going to agree to what I’m not just because to some people they are a certain type of people. For me, let God judge,” he said.
The Nollywood actor’s statement has since sparked reactions among his fans with some questioning his association with the LGBTQ while others commend his maturity and integrity.
