Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel, a leading All Progressives Congress (APC) chairmanship aspirant in Agege, has extended heartfelt sympathy to the Agege community following a near-tragic accident at the Pen Cinema Bridge earlier today, April 26.

According to eyewitness reports, a fully-loaded truck with registration number GGE 624 YJ lost control while navigating the Pen Cinema Bridge and crashed onto two commercial Volkswagen buses parked underneath along Old Abeokuta Road. Fortunately, the buses were empty at the time of the accident, preventing what could have been a major tragedy.

In his reaction, Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel expressed deep concern over the incident, thanking God that no lives were lost and emphasizing the need for stricter safety measures around high-traffic zones like Pen Cinema.
“We must continue to prioritize the safety of our people,” Hon. Taiwo said. “Today could have been a day of mourning, but by divine mercy, we are spared. I stand with every resident of Agege affected by this scare and reaffirm my commitment to work towards better infrastructure safety if given the mandate to serve.”

He also called on the relevant authorities to urgently assess and reinforce safety protocols for heavy-duty vehicles passing through residential and market areas to prevent future occurrences.

Residents in the area have praised emergency responders for their swift action in clearing the scene and restoring normalcy.

Hon. Taiwo Olasunkanmi Samuel’s gesture has once again reinforced his reputation as a leader closely connected to the heartbeat of the people; always ready to stand with them through challenges and victories alike.
