'How three Ogun men were arrested with human parts'

Three Ogun men identified as Sunday Akintobi, 36, Oladimeji Olaniran, 40, and Isaiah Tijani, 38. have been arrested in Abeokuta, the capital of Ogun State for being in possession of human parts.

Ogun Police spokesperson, Omolola Odutola, disclosed in a statement that the three men were arrested on April 22 at about 8 p:m. by operatives of the Command’s SWAT unit that acted on credible intelligence.

According to the police spokesperson, Akintobi the first person that was arrested in his residence at Itoku area, Abeokuta where he was accused of trading human body parts.

She added that further investigation led to the arrest of Olaniran and Tijani.

According to the police spokesperson, a search on the suspects’ residence led to recovery of body parts, believed to be human remains, including cerebral bones.

She added the cerebral bones were found in a location disguised as a Cherubim and Seraphim Church in Kobape town on Abiola Way in Abeokuta.

In a related development, the Commissioner of Police, Lanre Ogunlowo, has directed the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to conduct discreet investigation into the case to establish full involvement of the suspects in the heinous crime.

“As a friendly force, the Police Command in Ogun State urges the public to refrain from shielding criminal elements and to provide timely and credible information to security agencies.

“Such cooperation is crucial in curbing ritual killings and other crimes in the state,” she said.
