Pension arrears: Oyo pays N60m monthly

The Oyo State Government says it is paying N60 million monthly  to pensioners in the state clear their outstanding arrears.

The Oyo State Chairman of Pension Board, Tunji Adekunle, said this in a statement  on Thursday  by the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Dotun Oyelade.

He said, “a total number of 22, 212 pensioners are currently on the payroll of state board as of April 2025.”

He emphasised that the Seyi Makinde -led administration was committed to the welfare of pensioners in the state.

He said the administration had been consistently disbursing  pension payments on or before the 25th of each month.

He said, “A sum of N60 million is being paid to the state pensioners monthly in a bid to clear their outstanding arrears.

“Also, since the beginning of this year alone, the board has enrolled 142 pensioners in January, 175 in February, 171 in March, and 143 in April.”
