Award-winning Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has opened up about the heartbreaking loss of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke, and the emotional journey that followed.

In a recent interview with Ebro Darden on Apple Music 1, the singer reflected on the impact the loss had on his life, describing how the tragedy forced him to slow down, focus on his family, and realign his priorities.

“That type of loss makes you just be like, ‘I’m out. I’m just going to chill, take care of my wife, take care of the family and get my head right,’” Davido shared.

The “Unavailable” hitmaker, who welcomed twins with his wife, Chioma, in 2023, revealed that the birth of their children brought unexpected healing and joy—especially because their baby boy bears an uncanny resemblance to his late son, Ifeanyi.

“The boy looks just like my son who passed. It’s scary. It’s like literally him. We’re like, ‘Nah, it’s him. He came back,’” Davido said emotionally.

He described the experience of bouncing back from grief to being blessed with twins as nothing short of divine.

“To come back from that loss and just be blessed with twins out of the gate—a boy and a girl—that’s crazy. That’s great. It’s like, ‘God is real,’” he added.
