Old students of Mayflower School, Ikenne, are preparing for a grand celebration as the iconic institution marks its 70th anniversary in January 2026.

He noted that the scale of the event reflects the school’s remarkable legacy and its deep contributions to national development.
Abdul paid tribute to the founders, the late Dr. Tai Solarin and his wife, Sheila, describing Mayflower as “a priceless gift to humanity” whose influence has been felt across generations.
“From the outset, it was designed to impact the world positively. Today, we see that vision fulfilled in the global success of its alumni,” he stated.
Chairperson of the planning committee, Mrs. Kemi Soname, assured stakeholders that the anniversary will be a landmark event.
“This is not just a celebration; it’s a generational gathering that reflects the enduring spirit of Mayflower,” she said.
Other members of the committee include Tayo Matiluko (Vice Chairman), Ibukun Akintola (Secretary), Jumoke Oyenuga, Gbenga Bankole, Bisi Bello, Sherifat Balogun, Ademola Adeniran, and Kolawole Hassan. Sub-committees for medical, publicity, and fundraising efforts are expected to be inaugurated in the coming weeks.
