Gospel artists drop soul-stirring single ‘Shekere Mi Da’

Renowned Nigerian gospel artists, Taiwo & Kenny Jones, have called on Nigerians to embrace unity and uphold godly virtues as the path to national progress.

The duo made this appeal while unveiling their new single, ‘Shekere Mi Da’, a spiritually uplifting track inspired by African percussion and divine inspiration.

In a statement, the artists decried Nigeria’s lingering socio-economic challenges, despite its vast natural and human resources.

They emphasised that only collective efforts and unity among citizens could pave the way for meaningful change.

“Shekere Mi Da is a powerful expression of gratitude that is rooted in the rich cultural sounds of Yoruba music. This is not just an ordinary song but one with divine inspiration from the Almighty God,” they stated.

They further explained the symbolic meaning behind the title: “Shekere is one of the members of the percussion group and in the African setting, it symbolizes unity. Anywhere you find shekere, there is joy, happiness.”

The artists described the song as “a powerful praise anthem that is set to inspire and uplift listeners worldwide. The Yoruba-titled gospel track is a soul-stirring expression of gratitude and worship.
