VIDEO: EFCC after me for defending Verydarkman – Kokopee cries out

Kokopee, a close associate of embattled activist Verydarkman, has raised the alarm on social media, claiming that officials of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) are now searching for him.

This development comes amid growing protests across various parts of Nigeria, as supporters demand the immediate release of Verydarkman, a vocal social commentator known for tackling controversial societal issues.

In a video shared online, Kokopee expressed frustration over the EFCC’s actions, alleging that he is now being targeted simply for demanding the release of his friend.

“Instead of EFCC to release statement… release VDM you no gree. Instead una release people make them look for me. Wetin I do? What did I do to EFCC? All I did was tell them to release VDM,” Kokopee said, visibly agitated.

He accused the anti-graft agency of trying to silence him for speaking out, suggesting that his vocal advocacy may have disrupted certain undisclosed plans.

Online reactions have been mixed. While some users backed Kokopee and renewed calls for Verydarkman’s release, others accused him of chasing clout.

One user, @SegXmeta, wrote: “Nothing can stop this move, VDM must be freed.”
Another, @Tioluwalope0, criticized Kokopee, saying, “This Kokopee is a clout chaser walai… no logic in his statements.”
