The chairman’s commitment to improving healthcare is also evident with the introduction of a modern ambulance, replacing outdated tricycles for emergency transport to LASUTH. Additionally, the environmental impact is being addressed through “Operation Clean Up Ayobo Ipaja,” a weekly initiative to clear roads and desilt drains, helping curb flooding.

In a remarkable move to support young entrepreneurs and revitalize the local economy, Ayobo Ipaja Local Council Development Area (LCDA) Chairman, Otunba Ladi Oluwaloni, has invested N50.7 million into the informal sector within just six weeks of taking office.

Through a partnership with Zenith Bank, over 500 petty traders and young business owners have received N100,000 each as a grant to bolster their operations.

Additionally, 10 Community Development Associations (CDAs) were each empowered with N250,000, further strengthening the grassroots economy.

This initiative is part of Oluwaloni’s broader vision to rejuvenate the council without imposing additional burdens on its residents. His leadership has already brought significant transformation to the council since his swearing-in by Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on April 4, 2025.

Oluwaloni, a skilled accountant and administrator, has launched several key projects in his short time in office. These include the construction of Kuffo Road to stimulate economic activity, the resurfacing of Amule and Legacy Roads to ease transportation, and the upgrading of the legislative chamber to support democratic processes.

Oluwaloni has also made strides in public health, building a modern toilet at Pako Market to enhance hygiene and prevent open defecation.

In terms of staff welfare, Oluwaloni has tackled years of neglect by doubling non-pensionable staff allowances from N15,000 to N30,000 and enhancing civil servant benefits.

The revitalization of a decade-dormant grader and the reclamation of council land in Baruwa after 18 years further demonstrate his determination to address longstanding issues.

A steadfast member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Oluwaloni’s political journey spans several years, having contested the chairmanship in 2011, 2017, and 2021, before being appointed vice chairman in 2021. He assumed the role of acting chairman in March 2025, following the passing of the former chairman, and has since proven himself as a dynamic and compassionate leader.

Oluwaloni’s promise to boost Internally Generated Revenue without burdening residents reflects his fiscal acumen and commitment to sustainable development. His actions have already begun to transform Ayobo Ipaja from stagnation to progress, bringing renewed hope to the community.

As the LCDA heads towards elections, local stakeholders are rallying behind Oluwaloni, recognizing him as the ideal candidate to deliver prosperity and dignity to the area.
