The Anambra state government has placed a ban on all party uniforms ahead of President Bola-Ahmed Tinubu‘s visit to the state on the 8th of May 2025.
This announcement was made by Dr Alex Obiogbolu, the special adviser to the Governor of Anambra, on political matters on the 8th of May.
“This is to inform you that everybody coming to Dr Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka for the reception of President Bola Tinubu tomorrow, should be in mufti. Please nobody should put on APGA clothes, or Support Groups uniforms.” he said.
The Presidential visit is to hold at the Dr Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.
Obiogbolu stated that the order was given to avoid chaos and political rivalry which can shift focus from the main purpose of the presidential visit.
“The ban on uniforms was one of the conditions set before the President agreed to attend and all political parties, especially the APC and APGA were asked to bar their members from wearing party uniform,” Reports said.
