The highly monitored trial of Sean “P Diddy” Combs has hit a roadblock with the sudden disappearance of a crucial witness.

According to Daily Mail, federal prosecutors are struggling to locate “Victim 3,” a key figure in their sex trafficking case against the embattled music mogul.

With opening statements set to begin soon, prosecutors are racing against time to find Victim 3.

Lead prosecutor Maurene Comey informed US District Judge Arun Subramanian that they are having trouble contacting the witness and her attorney.

Victim 3 was expected to share “very personal and explosive details” about the alleged abuse she suffered at the hands of Combs.

However, the Defense attorney Teny Geragos has given prosecutors an ultimatum, demanding they decide by the end of the week whether they will still call Victim 3 to testify.

The prosecution’s admission that they cannot reach their star witness has raised eyebrows, especially after they previously stated that Victim 3 did not wish to use a pseudonym during her testimony.

Charges and Plea

Combs faces five counts, including racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation to engage in prostitution.

His legal team maintains that the allegations are not new and involve consensual relationships.

Combs has pleaded not guilty to all charges and rejected a last-minute plea deal, potentially facing life in prison if convicted.

As the trial progresses, jury selection is underway. Over 600 potential jurors have filled out questionnaires, and 45 have been selected for the final stage.

Both sides will review the list on Friday to determine which individuals to strike from the jury.

The court will reconvene on Friday for further proceedings. Will Victim 3 appear, or will the prosecution proceed without her testimony? The outcome remains uncertain as the trial continues to unfold.
