Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) are gathering at the Bauchi Governor’s lodge in the Federal Capital Territory to reverse the dwindling fortunes of the once strong politically party.
The party has recently continued in its downward slide with many of its stalwarts defecting to the ruling All progressives Congress or openly declaring support for President Bola Tinubu’s alleged quest to seek re-election in 2027.
Among those who have arrived at the meeting is the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and former Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Wike, whose loyalty to Tinubu is not a secret. meeting.
Wike was said to have arrived in his vehicle, stepped and proceeded directly inside to join PDP governors, former governors of the party and members of the National Working Committee who had arrived earlier for the meeting.
The governors said to have arrived include Ademola Adeleke (Osun), Caleb Mutfwang (Plateau), Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Ahmadu Fintiri (Adamawa), Peter Mbah (Enugu) and Dauda Lawal (Zamfara).
Other stakeholders already present are PDP Acting National Chairman Umar Damagum; Secretary of the Board of Trustees and a former Kaduna State Governor, Ahmed Makarfi; a former Bayelsa State Governor, Seriake Dickson; and a former Osun State Governor, Olagunsoye Oyinlola, a former Enugu State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and a former Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.
Also present are a former Kwara State Governor and former President of the Senate, Bukola Saraki, a former Niger State Governor, Babangida Muazu, a former Bauchi State Governor, Adamu Muazu, a former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, a former Jigawa State Governor, Sule Lamido and a former Governor of Akwa Ibom, Udom Emmanuel.
