Yul Edochie mourns

Nollywood actor and filmmaker Yul Edochie has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic deaths of two young cinematographers, Johnson and Gozman, who died in a car accident along Port Harcourt Road.

According to reports, the duo was returning from a colleague’s wedding when the fatal accident occurred. Their sudden demise adds to the growing list of untimely deaths that have recently rocked Nigeria’s film industry.

Reacting via his Instagram page, Yul shared a candlelight photo in tribute to the late cinematographers. He described the string of sudden deaths in Nollywood as heartbreaking and prayed for strength for the bereaved families.

“Too many untimely deaths in Nollywood. Really Sad. R.I.P. to our fallen brothers. May God grant your families the strength to bear this painful loss,” he wrote.

This comes amid a wave of losses in the industry. In March, veteran actress Nkechi Nweje passed away after a brief illness. Just a month prior, Columbus Irisoanga, a respected actor and academic, also died. His passing was announced by fellow actress Hilda Dokubo, who described the loss as deeply painful.
