The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has started to make good its promise to reschedule 379,997 candidates who were affected by the technical glitch experienced by the examination body, for another Unified Tertiary and Matriculation Examination.
P.M. News can confirm that the rescheduling began on Thursday morning as promised by the JAMB Registrar, Professor Ishaq Oloyede. Affected candidates have begun to see new dates, time and venues for the exam, in reprinted exam slips.
Following complaints from Nigerians, Oloyede at a press conference on Wednesday, confirmed that there were technical errors in the recently concluded UTME. He said 206,610 candidates in 65 centres were affected in Lagos while 173,387 candidates were affected in 92 centres in the South East.
“We appreciate our critics for not being indifferent.
“The unusual level of complaints prompted an immediate audit of the 2025 UTME, and our findings regrettably confirm that some candidates were impacted by a technical error during result processing,” he said.
Adding, he said, “Specifically, the glitch affected 206,610 candidates across 65 centres in Lagos State and 173,387 candidates in 92 centres across the South-East region—totaling 379,997 affected candidates.
