The Nigeria Bar Association (NBA), Otuocha Branch, Anambra, has condoled with the family of their colleague, Mr Ifeanyi-Rolex Iloakasia, who was murdered by yet to be identified assailants on Thursday.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Iloakasia was killed alongside his client in Nanka Orumba North Local Government Area on their way home from a court sitting at Ekwulobia High Court.
Mr Oluchukwu Udemezue, the branch chairman, told newsmen in Awka on Saturday that the loss was a big one to the branch and the family in particular.
Udemezue said the visit was to convey the condolences of the branch to his immediate family while adding their voices to the call for the immediate arrest and prosecution of those responsible for the killing.
“This loss is not just his family’s grief, it is our collective sorrow, and we must stand united in demanding for justice.
“We have visited the family of Iloakasia to offer condolences and I must say that their pain is immeasurable, it is our duty to stand by them in this difficult time.
“We assured them that we, the NBA, will not rest until justice is served, the Otuocha Bar has formally notified the President of NBA about this horrific incident, detailing the actions taken by NBA Anambra.
“We have called on the NBA National Executive Council to actively support efforts to unravel those behind this heinous crime, we need their support at this time,” he said.
