Nigeria Police recover stolen vehicles in Ghana, Niger Republic

The Anambra State Police Command says it  rescued a victim from being abducted in the Isuaniocha community in Awka North Local Government Area of the state.

The members of the gang who were said to be operating in a black coloured Toyota Corolla,  double-crossed the victim at Amatu village in Agulu, Anaocha Local Government Area. They then  abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV.

The spokesman for the state Police command, Tochukwu Ikenga,  however, said  police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad, Enugwu-Ukwu, stopped the gang of five.

Ikenga said the operatives in a technology-driven manhunt on the criminals made them abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha and flee, adding that the victim has been debriefed and is in safe custody.

He said, “Police operatives attached to the Special Anti-Cultism Squad Enugu-Ukwu in the evening of May 17, 2025, foiled a kidnapping attempt and recovered the victim’s vehicle at Isuaniocha.

“The kidnapping gang of five operating in a black coloured Toyota Corolla double-crossed the victim at Amatu village, Agulu, and abducted him with his black Lexus 350 SUV before the Police were alerted.

“The operatives in a technology-driven manhunt on the criminals made them abandon the victim and the vehicle on the road at Isuaniocha and flee. The victim has been debriefed and is in safe custody.

“To this end, the Operatives are currently working on the necessary information available to dislodge the kidnapping gang and have stepped up security surveillance in the area for possible arrest of the suspect and to nip any untoward situation in the bud.”
