“Best day of my life,” Davido reunites with daughter Imade

Nigerian music icon David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reunited with his first daughter, Imade, following a prolonged custody dispute with her mother, Sophia Momodu.

Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday, the award-winning singer shared heartwarming photos of the reunion, including a snapshot of himself and Imade posing for the camera and another of them on a Facetime call with his second daughter, Hailey.

Captioning the post simply, Davido wrote: “Best day of my life.”

The reunion comes amidst a tense legal battle that has persisted since 2022.

In June last year, Davido filed a lawsuit seeking joint custody of Imade, accusing Sophia of denying him access to their daughter and allegedly attempting to extort money from him—claims she has vehemently denied.

Sophia, in her counter-affidavit, argued against Davido’s request for joint custody, citing concerns over the singer’s fitness to parent, especially in light of the tragic loss of his son, Ifeanyi, in 2022.
