Nigerian Afrobeats superstar, Davido, has stirred reactions online after claiming that artists can earn as much as $400,000 for performing at a naming ceremony.
The revelation came during a recent interview on the podcast Tap In With TT, where the award-winning singer discussed how lucrative private bookings in Nigeria can be, especially for wealthy clients.
“You can get booked for a naming ceremony – $400K,” Davido said. “It’s just like in India. They always celebrate everything. Once you’re doing a wedding or a birthday, especially if you have money, the main thing is to invite a big artist.”
