It was a carnival of colour, laughter, and inspiration as the Smiles for Orphans and Vulnerable Children Initiative (SOVCI) hosted its third annual Children’s Day celebration, tagged SOVCI Children’s Day Celebration 3.0, with over 300 children and students from orphanages and schools gathering under one roof to celebrate youth, hope, and limitless potential.
The lively event, held at the Students Arcade, Lagos State University, Ojo, featured music, dancing, games, and educational activities.

The event brought together children from diverse backgrounds in a show of unity and joyful expression. Balloons floated in the air, and the smiles on the children’s faces lit up the venue.
Delivering an uplifting speech, Pastor Euriel Momah, Convener of SOVCI, charged the children to dream boldly and never allow their circumstances to limit their ambitions.
Reflecting on the theme of this year’s event, “Beyond Limits,” Momah called on society to support and nurture children so they could achieve their fullest potential.

“Today, we gather to celebrate the joy, creativity, and boundless potential of our children,” he declared.
“The theme ‘Beyond Limits’ reminds us that every child has the capacity to achieve greatness, push boundaries, and make a positive impact in the world,” he added.
Encouraging the children directly, he added: “Believe in yourselves, explore your passions, and never be afraid to take risks. Your potential is limitless, and your future is bright.”

The event was more than just a celebration, it was a powerful reminder of what is possible when children are given the tools to thrive. Volunteers, caregivers, and partners joined hands to ensure the day was not just fun-filled but also deeply meaningful.

SOVCI, through this initiative, continues to champion the cause of orphans and vulnerable children, offering them a platform to be seen, heard, and celebrated.
As the sun set on a day filled with dancing feet, excited laughter, and heartfelt words, one message rang clear: Nigeria’s children truly can go beyond limits.
