A quiet Ashford neighbourhood was turned into a crime scene on Monday after a savage knife attack left one woman dead and another critically injured in what police are calling a “targeted assault.”
According to the Sun, emergency services raced to a property on Ellson Close around 1:40pm following reports of a brutal stabbing. By the time they arrived, the horror had already unfolded.
A woman in her 50s was found with severe stab wounds and rushed to hospital, but despite efforts to save her, she tragically died later that day.
Another woman, believed to be in her 30s, remains in hospital in critical condition, clinging to life after sustaining multiple stab injuries.
The two women were known to each other, authorities confirmed, and no suspects are being sought at this time—raising chilling questions about what exactly transpired behind closed doors in the otherwise quiet residential street.
Forensic teams and detectives swarmed the scene as shocked neighbours watched in disbelief. Police cordoned off the area while officers from Kent Police and the Essex Serious Crime Directorate began piecing together the events of the day.
An investigation, now under the direction of the coroner, is underway to determine the circumstances of the deadly attack.
