Popular Nigerian singer and activist Folarin Falana, known professionally as Falz, has denied any romantic involvement with controversial crossdresser Bobrisky.
The denial comes amid a defamation lawsuit Falz filed against social media critic VeryDarkMan (VDM), who leaked an alleged phone conversation between Falz and Bobrisky while the singer was in prison last year.
The leaked conversation sparked widespread speculation about Falz’s relationship with Bobrisky.
In an interview with Arise TV on Wednesday, Falz provided an update on the ongoing court case, revealing that VDM has yet to enter a defense. “The court has thrown out their preliminary objection, so they now have to enter a defense or the court will rule on the case,” he said.
Addressing his connection with Bobrisky, Falz said he never had a relationship with the crossdresser and only reached out out of compassion. “He messaged me on Instagram saying he was in a case and wanted to speak about how I could help. Like many others, I gave him an audience to understand how I could assist,” Falz explained.
Reflecting on the experience, the singer added, “Once bitten, twice shy. I may not help anyone again, or at least I will be much more conscious going forward.”
