Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of former Minister of Education and Petroleum Resources, Professor Jibril Aminu.

Governor Radda, in a condolence message said Professor Aminu embodied the finest qualities of leadership, scholarship, and public service that have long distinguished the North.

“Professor Jibril Aminu was not just a great northerner but a Nigerian icon whose contributions to education, energy sector development, and diplomacy left indelible marks in our nation’s history,” Governor Radda stated.

The Governor praised the late Professor’s remarkable journey from academia to the highest levels of government, noting his transformative tenure as Minister of Education and later as Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources between 1989 and 1992.

Governor Radda also commended Professor Aminu’s distinguished diplomatic service as Nigeria’s Ambassador to the United States from 1999 to 2003, and his legislative contributions as Senator representing Adamawa Central constituency from 2003 to 2011.

The Governor extended heartfelt condolences to the government and people of Adamawa State, the Aminu family, and all who benefited from the late Professor’s mentorship and leadership.

Governor Radda called on young northerners and Nigerians to draw inspiration from Professor Aminu’s legacy of excellence in education, public service, and nation-building.
