As Nigerian Muslims join their brethren worldwide to celebrate the sacred festival of Eid Adha, a time of profound spiritual reflection and communal solidarity, the Southwest Chieftain of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and CEO of Bullion Records, Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo, has extended his warmest greetings to the Muslim Ummah.

In a heartfelt message, he called for renewed commitment to the timeless virtues of sacrifice, patience, and obedience — values he believes are essential not only in personal life but also in the ongoing project of national transformation.

Ajadi, who was the NNPP’s governorship candidate in Ogun State during the 2023 general elections, reflected deeply on the spiritual significance of Eid Adha as a beacon for moral leadership and nation-building in these challenging times.

Drawing upon the profound lessons of the festival, he urged both Nigeria’s leaders and its citizens to reflect on the enduring legacy of Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) and his son Prophet Ismail (Ishmael) — a legacy of unwavering faith, obedience, and trust in the divine.

“The story of Prophet Ibrahim and Ismail offers one of the greatest moral lessons in human history — the readiness to submit to divine instruction, the strength to endure trials with patience, and the willingness to sacrifice for a greater good,” Ajadi said. “As a nation, and especially our leaders, we must internalize these values if we truly desire to see Nigeria rise to its full potential.”

Eid Adha, also known as the Festival of Sacrifice, commemorates the moment when Prophet Ibrahim, acting in obedience to God’s command, prepared to sacrifice his beloved son Ismail.

In recognition of their faith and devotion, God intervened and provided a ram as a substitute. This sacred act, honored each year by Muslims through the ritual slaughtering of animals and acts of charity, embodies the spirit of submission to God’s will, compassion, and community solidarity.

Ajadi emphasized that, like Prophet Ismail’s calm acceptance and trust, Nigerian citizens too must remain steadfast in righteous principles, particularly amid the current economic hardships and social challenges.

“To the citizens and the resilient electorate of our great nation, I acknowledge the difficult times we face. But like Ismail, who trusted in the divine plan, we too must remain united, patient, and hopeful,” he said. “Our collective sacrifices will not be in vain if we hold fast to our values and support one another.”

Turning his message to those in positions of leadership, Ajadi urged Nigerian leaders to use the occasion of Eid Adha as a moral compass for governance. He called upon them to emulate the humility, honesty, and sense of duty exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim.

“Leadership is not a privilege but a sacred trust,” Ajadi stressed. “Those in power must lead with sincerity, fairness, and deep responsibility. Our people are watching, and history will record our actions. Now more than ever, leaders must embody the spirit of sacrifice — prioritizing the needs of the people above personal or political gain.”

Known widely for his philanthropy, community-building, and tireless advocacy for youth empowerment, Ajadi has consistently used both his political platform and his creative enterprise, Bullion Records, to uplift Nigerian youth — particularly in the entertainment and creative industries. Through various empowerment schemes and outreach programs, he continues to champion good governance, peace-building, and inclusive development.

As the nation celebrates Eid Adha, Ajadi also reminded the Muslim community of the profound social responsibility that comes with the festival.

“Eid is not simply about the ritual slaughter of animals,” he said. “It is about the spirit of sharing and compassion. Let us feed the hungry, support the needy, forgive one another, and extend a hand of kindness to all — regardless of faith or background. That is the true spirit of Eid.”

As Nigeria navigates a period of both challenge and opportunity, Ajadi’s message resonates as a timely call for personal renewal and collective moral clarity. His words serve as a reminder that the virtues of sacrifice, obedience, and compassion are not just spiritual ideals, but practical virtues capable of shaping a more just, united, and prosperous Nigeria.
