Bella Shmurda opens up on losing money in music
Nigerian street pop artist, Akinbiyi Abiola Ahmed, popularly known as Bella Shmurda, has opened up on how he lost money on a song that did not blow up.
While speaking in an interview with Afrobeats Intelligence on Friday, Bella revealed that he once spent $40,000 on a song and it still did not perform well.
Bella said that he tested the tested the song even after receiving a message in his dream about it.
“I am a dreamer. A seer. There was this song I was supposed to drop I didn’t drop it. I saw it in the dream that my next song should be a street song. It was very obvious to me that ‘Okay o your next song should be a street song.’ Then I released another song just to be sure of what I saw. For me to be sure, I have to drop a song that’s not a people’s song. The song didn’t go well, even after 40K USD spent on promotion, and then I dropped an actual street song, then I didn’t even spend up to 20 million, and the song went to NO. 2 in the country,” he stated.
